I'm a wedding photographer and Super 8 filmmaker based in South Carolina, documenting modern love stories with a vintage twist. On top of that, I'm also a wife, a retail business owner, a lover of the Arts, and a former challenge/honors kid who couldn't choose between following my creative dreams or using my brain. Luckily - photography requires a little bit of both!
Personality-wise, I've always been 5 things. Detail oriented, a lover of art/beauty, big on humor, sentimental, and a perfectionist to a fault. Some may attribute this to my venus-dominant natal chart, but if that's not your thing it could also be attributed to the fact that I am just a girl <333
When I'm not running the Grain and Grace side of things, I’m usually managing one of our retail businesses, thrifting/shopping, or traveling (with my film cameras ofc!). A few little things that inspire me are: waking up in a new city with a full day ahead of me, browsing antique markets, seeing little blips of love between two people in public, and moments that feel a little cinematic even when nothing big is happening.

The "Grain and Grace" Lore
My love of nostalgia and all things vintage started young. I was an Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, Connie Francis girlie growing up, and I've always had this strange (but comforting) longing for time periods I didn't exist in. Because of this, I picked up my first film camera in high school, attempting to replicate the warm grainy vibes of the 60s/70s(despite how modern the world looked through my viewfinder). I learned how to shoot film before I even knew how to use my fancy DSLR that I got for my 14th birthday, which honestly made everything easier in the long run!
I unknowingly fell in love with super 8 the first time I saw Lana Del Rey's "Ultraviolence" music video, but it wasn't until 2022 when I realized that it wasn't just a filter, and that I could actually record videos on super 8 film. I found my first super 8 camera at a flea market in Brooklyn and started making home videos of our holidays and travels. If being able to capture images in a nostalgic format wasn't cool enough, I was now able to capture living breathing moving memories on film too. Something about having to wait 2-3 weeks to see the footage I shot did something for my dopamine-fixed brain in a world where everything else is so instant.
In November 2024, I married my wife and had a friend use my super 8 camera to record snippets of our wedding day. The film was everything I had dreamed of, and captured our day in a way that I knew I would treasure forever. Our wedding day was the most beautiful and precious day of my life, and because of this, the post-wedding blues hit hard. I wanted to find a way to mix my passion for celebrating love with my passion for capturing it on the timeless format of film. Thus, Grain and Grace was born.
